My break from 01/05/2007 until 14/05/2007
I just came back from my break from 1st May 2007 until 14th May 2007. As usual, when anyone is away from work for 2 weeks, there will be tonnes of work loads awaiting.
The first week on break was horribly down because it was raining almost everyday. I did not have a chance to play tennis at all but I managed to go to gym once at Sengdara Fitness Centre, considered as the best in town right now. I did not do a lot of things because of the rain.
One thing that made me very sad was "termites". On Friday 4th May 2007, my mum decided to clean up our house. What we found was millions of termites were destroying my treasures i.e. books and pictures from primary school until Australian University Foundation Year (equivalent to Grade 12 in Australia). I was shocked to my very core. I nearly collapsed because every single of them is a part of what has made me to be me nowadays. I had to burn most of them. While I was burning them, it was like I was burning half of my life. I felt my life will never be completed.
Anyway, on friday night (04/05/2007), I met up with two gentlemen (Malcom & Nic), lightning protection specialists, from PowerCom, Tasmania, Australia. I took them to Khob Chai Der Restaurant and Bar then to Sticky Fingers for cocktails. We met up with men from TIGO Laos (TIGO is a brand of mobile phone network company - it has branches in many countries). Malcom wanted to meet up with TIGO people because he wants to get a lightning protection project with TIGO Laos. Malcom said he had lightning projects with TIGO in Africa. This might be good opportunity to get business in Laos. After Sticky Fingers, Nic and I went to Xay Yo Restaurant (under the same management of Khob Chai Der Restaurant & Bar) to have few drinks with my friends. Then we went to Romeo, a popular clubbing in town. I was drunk like shit. I also vomited. I was drunk and drove a car. Wasn't it scary? This was my 2 second time of year I was drunk.
On Saturday 12th May 2007, my buddy friends and I went to Nong Seum, a place for relaxing and having meals. We went there to celebrate our 3 friends' birthdays. The 3 girls (Thieng, Van, and Douangchai) were not born on the same day but we celebrated on the same day because it was hard to time to meet up. We had grilled fish, grilled beef, spicy papaya salad, spicy long bean salad, duck soup, half cooked grilled beef salad, and Beer Lao, one of the best beers in the world. Unexpectedly, I had stomachache because of spicy salad. Fortunately, I reached toilet before the worse thing can happen . . . I just don't want to imagine.
I met up with Jason Lee on saturday and sunday.
On monday 14/05/2007, I took the company charter flight to the mine site to be back to work once again.
